I think Michael will stay at the 14^th street clinic, and not return to his old practice because what he does at the clinic is fulfilling. By losing his license for nine months gives him something in common with the people he helps. Many of the homeless people were victims of circumstance. As far as Ruby goes Michael helped her. Ruby was a person that was lost. In her struggle with her drug addiction her, to make things worse her only child did not want to speak to her. With help of Mordecai’s secretary Michael finds her a placement in a women’s shelter for women with addiction problems. I believe this will help Michael in his relationships because before his life was all about work and less time spent with his wife. Michael was also selfish, and had no relation or reaction with the ones he help at the firm. Working for the homeless has helped Michael see people differently in ways he never had. Before working with the homeless people he never gave them a second look, never cared to understand their problems. Michael realized that his firm was the cause for some of these people hardships. This type of work, working as a street lawyer is more fulfilling to Michael.

     One of themes of this novel is how people become homeless. People never grow up and say they’ll be homeless. Homelessness is a problem in ever part of the world, and always will be. People tend to think and worry about them self. Most people are too busy to worry about their neighbors. Often time we only join a cause when we are directly affected. For example most people aren’t aware of autism unless they know someone who has this disorder. The awareness causes people to act. I believe we try to help the homeless population through programs such as welfare, shelters, and food pantries. Many homeless people lack in education for programs such as the ones previously mentioned, but a lack in education to put them self’s in the homeless situation from the beginning. I strongly believe things happen that may cause near homelessness, but if education is reached from the beginning there are ways of avoiding total homelessness.

I think Michaels changing life is a down and upwards spirals, because he’s trying to get over his previous event in his office. After his previous event in his off he has likely to come to realize that life is not all about making money and his fortunate successes. Instead, he has come to realize he should give money and help out at the homeless shelters. A downward affect to his life right now would be the divorce with his wife and her taking his money. Michael is trying to do greater things to better himself after his traumatic event. Honesty I think he’s going through a time in his life where things are like a rollercoaster. He does one thing good, and after theres a bad affect to the benefits he’s made. I also think Michael is experiencing what it feels like to be middle class, or maybe even experiencing what it feels like to go through ups and down in his life right now, something that he probably hasn’t went through in a while.

What I think Montage is means in his quote at the end of the book is there are two sides to this war, the burning of knowledge and the means of wanting to keep knowledge. But people are only seeing the flames. People are becoming relaxed and having acceptance of this madness, not knowing there could be a change in this system; but in a time where people are only knowable of their materialistic things, and there selfishness. These worshipers have and make no time to worry about what’s right for the nearest future. I feel Montage thinks through the flames of knowledge there is a phoenix to rise from the ashes of burned books. If this is right, I think Montages thoughts are on the verge of a rebellion towards the healing of this nation.

The government does not pursue Montage outside the city because he becomes part of the reissuance. Pursuing montage outside the city would be pointless because the outsides would cause no change to America’s new system of burning knowledge. As of not pursing Montage outside of the city, instead they caught some else and used him as a scapegoat to strike fear into others. I think Montage leaving the system and joining the reissuance again burning book was a brave choice. A choice most would have left alone, becoming fearful of what might purse them in the city. Montages choice also shows he has knowledge, something America is trying to get rid of. Montage shows this knowledge by showing his is smart for leaving. Giving him knowledge against the dumbest of humans.  

I think Michael believed that mister was going to kill them because he probably figured he was just going through PTSD. Mister also had red broom sticks strapped to him waist as if they were dynamite.  Michael probably also thought mister was not going to kill the lawyers because it seemed mister wanted the lawyers to admit to how much they get paid a year, and how much they give or gave to the homeless shelters. Mister was also most likely going through PTSD at the time of the incident, Michael   also did not think mister out to be a bad guy. Personal I feel mister just wanted sympathy for the homeless, and the unfortunate well being others, but for mister to attack rich innocent people is a matter that should not be addressed in such way mister addressed the situation. I don’t feel attacking rich people is the right way to handle his situation. Doing such had outcomes that were not going to go well for mister. Because of his actions he’s pay in the most tragic way possible.

     The firemen in this futuristic time are nothing like the firemen in the present day. Instead of putting out fires they start them. They also set books on fire. Montage likes his job. In fact after setting whatever he sets on fire he grins with excitement that even when he sleep never leaves his face. What Beatty reviles about himself is that this does not take place in England, and that the quote he mentions is from a book. Which it ironic for this era, because in this era the firemen burn knowledge. In the first part of this book we learn about the mechanical hound. The mechanical hound is futuristic piece of technology with eight legs. The purpose of the hound is hunt people have books.

     They program the makeup of a person’s amino acids, so the hound can track you down. Once it finds its prey it injects a long steel needle into the person and deposits morphine procaine into them. Montage is afraid of the hound because the hound reacts to him every time Montag is around. Montage thinks that someone is messing with him by programming the hound with some of his information. The captain disregards montages statement, and tell him he will have the hound looked at. Montage tells the captain he wouldn’t want to be the hound next victim. After the captain asks montage if he has guilty conscience.
